This is a fun dance class for students ages 2 to 4 years old. This is a basic dance class where ballet, jazz and tumbling are taught. Students will also learn dance class etiquette, like standing in line, asking instructor before leaving during class and following directions. (45 min)
Pre Ballet/Tap Combo: 2nd year dance class for students who have already completed 1 year of Creative Movement. This class is geared towards dancers ages 4 & 5 years old and consists of a half an hour of Ballet and a half an hour of Tap. They will learn the very basics of these skills to help them advance smoothly into regular combo classes. Pre Jazz/Tap Combo: This is a 2nd year dance class for students who have already completed 1 year of Creative Movement. This class is for dancers ages 4 & 5years old and consists of a half an hour of Jazz and a half an hour of Tap. This class will teach dancers the basics to make a smooth transition over to our regular Jazz/Tap Combo class. Ballet/Tap Combo: This class is for students ages 5 to 7 years old. It consists of a half hour of basic ballet and a half hour of basic tap. Dancers will learn more advanced ballet and tap technique and in a few years willbe ready to conquer level I classes. In addition, students will begin to learn how to memorize more difficult and lengthy dance routines. Jazz/Tap Combo: This class is for students ages 5 to 7 years. This class consists of a half hour of basic jazz and a half hour of basic tap. Dancers will learn more advanced jazz and tap technique and in a few years willbe ready to conquer level I classes. In addition, students will begin to learn how to memorize more difficult and lengthy dance routines.
The following ballet classes require a leotard, tights, ballet shoes and hair in a bun or ponytail. Ballet skirts are permitted, but t-shirts and shorts are not allowed. To feel like a Ballerina, we need to look like a Ballerina :) Ballet I: This class is for students ages 7 and up. Students will learn ballet basics like the posture, positions of the arms and feet, vocabulary, and beginning ballet technique. After a dancer has taken 2 years of our combo class, they are usually ready to journey into Ballet I. Ballet II: The students in this class must have previous ballet experience. This class is designed for the intermediate dancer. Most of the dancers in the class have already had up to 4 years of Ballet training. In this class we advance into a half an hour of barre work, and improve our vocabulary by taking a vocabulary test every quarter. Ballet III: This is an advanced ballet class for the very serious Ballet dancer. This class lasts an hour and a half consisting of Barre work, Center work, progressions, and a half an hour of Pointe.
The following Jazz classes require dance attire. Hair needs to be up and out of the dancers face and dancers need Jazz shoes or Ballet shoes (no dance sneakers please). T-shirts and/or baggy shorts may not be worn, because the instructor will not be able to properly see and fix body placement mistakes. *** Ballet is highly recommended to take along with the following Jazz classes. This will ensure the best dance training for your child. Jazz I: Ages 7 and up. After taking 2 years of combination classes, most dancers are ready to transitions to Jazz I. Dancers will learn basic Jazz skills like proper stretching technique to improve flexibility and more advanced jazz progressions. Jazz II: Intermediate Jazz class for a dancer who has had about 4 years of Jazz training. Dancers will improve Jazz technique skills and prepare themselves to move into either Teen Jazz or Advanced Jazz. Advanced Jazz(Jazz III/Jazz IV): Advanced Jazz class for the serious dancer. Most dancers in this class have had up to 7 years of Jazz training. All dancers take at least an hour and half of Ballet a week as well as our Advanced leaps and turns class. Teen Jazz: Jazz class for ages 12 and up. Class touches on Basics of Jazz, but focuses on Intermediate level instruction. Dancers do not need previous dance training, but most have had several years of training. This class is geared more towards the dancer as an individual. As they do they jazz progressions they are paired up with a dancer who is working on the same technique as they are. By the time recital comes the dancers are more evenly matched and always have fun dancing together on stage.
The following Tap classes require tap shoes (preferably Jazz taps for intermediate to advanced students) and general dancewear. T-shirts may not be worn. Tap I: Ages 7 and up who have completed 2 years at the combo level. Dancers learn the basics of Tap dancing. Tap II: Intermediate tap class. Dancers need to know basic tap progressions, tap turns, time steps, wings, tiptoe cramp rolls, and pull backs. Tap III: Advanced tap class. Dancers must have had numerous years of Tap training. Dancers need to understand rhythm patterns, demonstrate steps such as single tip-toe cramp rolls, single wings, single pullbacks, and grab-offs. Class touches on tap techniques such as clogging, hoofing, and Irish step dancing. Teen Tap: Ages 12 and up. Beginning to Intermediate level tap class geared more towards the intermediate dancer. Previous tap training helps, but is not required. In this class, we work with each dancer as an individual to help them progress in their own tap training. By the time recital comes, they have a group routine down and are ready to shine on stage.
Street Jazz/Funk/hip hop: Since this is the latest fad, the following classes are some of the most popular classes Dance Dynamix offers. In these classes you can learn the newest music video dance moves. These classes always fill up first, so register early. Kid's Hip Hop: Ages 8 through 12. It is not only high energy, but also high speed dancing that is a lot of fun. Dancers will learn the basics of hip hop and how to get wild and crazy as they dance. They will also learn beginning break dancing moves that will help them move into Teen Hip Hop or Advanced Hip Hop. This class is definitely not for the shy dancer and you will be surprised how many shy dancers we have transformed into hip hop dancing divas. Teen Hip Hop: Ages 12 and up. Past Hip-Hop experience helps, but is not required. This class if filled with fun, fast and high energy dancing. These dancers will add to their break dancing collection by learning more of the latest break dancing moves. Advanced Hip Hop: This class is for the hip hop dancer who has had several years of not only hip hop dancing, but jazz as well. In this class we will not only do hip hop and break dancing, but we include in our leaps and turns to add more depth to our dancing. You will find yourself out of breathe and very sore the next day, but this is how you will reach your goal of dancing for Janet, Britany, or Justin someday.
Beg/Intermediate Lyrical: Ages 7 and up. Lyrical is a mix between Ballet and Jazz. Dancers act out the lyrics and portray the mood/emotion of the song through their dance movements. Ballet and Jazz are highly recommended as additional classes. Taking those will help your dancer gain the best experience in lyrical. They will get the majority of their technique in the jazz and ballet classes, so in lyrical they can truly focus on the mood and emotion of the song. That is what makes a great lyrical dancer. Advanced Lyrical: Dancers must have past Lyrical, Ballet and Jazz experience. Dancers must also be also enrolled in Ballet and Jazz classes. In this class we really work on improving your emotional dancing, but at the same time we keep training the important technique.
Beginning Pom and Cheer: Prerequisite for auditioning into Courtney’s Pawprints, tryout are held once a year and usually in May. Ages 5 and up (5 and 6 year olds must have past dance experience). Dancers will learn their arm positions, jumps, kicks, and other Pom & cheer basics. This class also touches on jazz and hip hop basics as well. Tumbling, jazz and hip hop classes work great taken side by side with Pom & Cheer. Teen Pom and Cheer: Ages 12 and up. Class covers Beg/Intermediate Pom and Cheer technique, as well as some Jazz and Hip Hop. In this class dancers will also learn to build different cheer stunts. This class is especially useful for students preparing for high school dance or cheer/spiritline try-outs. Tumbling is highly recommended.
Leaps and Turns: This class focuses on the basics of leaps, jumps, and turns. It is perfect to take along with Jazz, ballet or lyrical, because it will help improve some of the same techniques used in those classes. This class is designed as a technique class and does not participate in the recital.
Students must have perfected the tricks listed below to enroll in the class. As soon as a student cleanly learns their new skill they will proceed to the next level. Dancewear must be worn, and hair must be up and away from face. No t-shirts or baggy shorts may be worn, in order to ensure the safety of the instructors as well as the students. Beginning Tumbling: This class if for the beginning students ages 4 and up. They will learn all the basic tumbling skills including forward rolls, cartwheels and round-offs. Tumbling I: Students must be able to perform a clean cartwheel and round-off. This class will focus on limbers and backwalkovers. Tumbling II: Students must be able to perform a back walkover with proper technique (straight arms and legs, pointed feet, and proper head placement). This class will also learn aerials and backhandsprings. Tumbling III: Advanced tumbling. Clean back handprings/round-off back handsprings are required to attend this class. Tumblers will be working to learn their aerials or aerial fronts, back tucks/lay-outs, punch front tucks, etc...
Pawprints Pom & Cheer Team Pom

Beginning or Teen Pom and Cheer is a pre-requisite and auditions are
held once a year in May. Dancers march in numerous parades, perform
in stage shows, and participate in conventions and competitions throughout
the year. Students are required to take three classes per week:
1 ballet, 1 jazz and their appropriate Pawprints class(combo classes
count as ballet or jazz technique). The fun continues with master
class opportunity, pool parties and sleepovers. Performing/Competing Company This company is by invitation only. Students must be unlimited, very dedicated dance students. Invitations are usually handed out twice a year.
Strength, Endurance & Flexibility(boot camp) This class is a workout class designed for dancers. They will learn exercises to help with flexibility, strength, endurance and tone specific muscles that will enhance their dancing. In each class we run a mile or more outside, so please wear proper running shoes. Solo's These lessons are for the serious dancers only. Dance Dynamix provides 8 lessons for a flat rate price. If the student needs further practice then the regular private instruction rate is applied. After learning their solo, each dancer will be invited to perform in our solo/duo show and may also be invited to participate in numerous stage shows and competitions throughout the year. Duo's These lessons are for serious dancers only. Dance Dynamix provides 8 lessons for a flat rate price. If the student needs further practice then the regular private instruction rate is applied. After learning your duo, you will be invited to perform in our annual solo, duo show and possibly several stage shows and competitions throughout the year. Trio's These lessons are for the serious dancers only. Dance Dynamix provides 8 lessons for a flat rate price. If the student needs further practice then the regular private instruction rate is applied. After learning your trio, you will be invited to dance in our annual solo, duo show and possibly be asked to travel with us to different stage shows and competitions throughout the year.
Dance Dynamix offers dance birthday parties that are held at the dance studio. Which means no mess for you to clean up. These parties are centered around any theme. It can be centered around a favorite movie, singer or era. Below are just a few examples: Ballet Party: Each girl will choose a tu-tu to wear during the party, learn a dance, have refreshments and receive a take home favor. Cheerleading Party: Each girl will learn a chant, short pom dance, have refreshments and take home a party favor. Hip-Hop Party: This is a fun party especially for pre-teen girls. Hip-hop is the latest craze. Guests will learn the hip-hop basic steps and put them together into a fun dance. They will have refreshments and receive a take home party favor. The costs for these parties are $10.00 per attendee (Birthday girl/boy is free). This includes the studio, instructors, party favors and refreshments (drinks and ice cream).
